The questions we are asked most often about WordDuel. If you cannot find your answer here, write to us — we usually reply within a few business days.

Do I need an account to play?

No. You do not need to register or provide an email address or phone number to play WordDuel. Your in-game name (for example “Oyuncu4821”) is generated automatically by the app and has no connection to your real identity; you can change it in game if you like. If you want to carry your progress to another device you may sign in with Google Play Games — that is entirely optional.

Where is my progress stored? What happens if I change phones?

Your level progress, coins, daily quests, achievements and settings are kept in your device’s local storage. If you play as a guest they are never sent to us — but that also means your progress does not travel with you if you delete the app or move to a new device. To carry it across, sign in with your Google Play Games account from Settings > Account: your progress is backed up to the cloud and you continue where you left off on every device you sign in with.

The duel cannot find an opponent — what should I do?

Quick Match pairs you with players who are online at that moment, and in the early days of a game there may be few people playing simultaneously. After a short wait an opponent is assigned automatically and the match begins. Make sure your internet connection is active; some corporate networks and VPNs block the connection.

How do I invite a friend to a duel?

Use the “Invite by name” card on the Duel screen and paste the other player’s invite code. The code is generated by the app; the other player can share theirs from Settings. There is no room code to create; the invitation appears as an in-app notification on their side. A live invitation only arrives if the other player has the game open at that moment — if they are offline, challenge them through “Async Matches” instead, where each of you plays your own 90 seconds whenever you like.

How do I remove the ads?

You can make the in-app purchase that removes advertising from the in-game store. The transaction is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we have no access to your payment details. When you change devices you can bring your purchase back using the store’s “restore purchases” flow.

My coins have disappeared.

Your coin balance is held in your device’s local storage, so if you play as a guest, deleting the app deletes it too. If you signed in with an account, it is restored from your last backup. If you recently made a purchase with real money, write to us with your store receipt (App Store or Google Play order number) and we will look into it.

I think a word is missing from the dictionary — or should not be in it.

Our dictionary was built using the open-source Zemberek natural language processing library together with word frequency data. It contains 36,413 words and covers only single, unhyphenated words of 3–10 letters made up of Turkish characters. Write to us about words you find missing or superfluous and we will consider them for the next dictionary update.

How do I request deletion of my data?

If you signed in with an account, you can permanently delete your account and all cloud data from inside the app: Settings &gt; Account &gt; “Delete My Account”. If you play as a guest, uninstalling the app deletes the data held on your device. For step-by-step instructions — and for what to do if you no longer have access to the app — see the <a href="/hesap-silme">Account and Data Deletion</a> page; we conclude requests within 30 days at the latest.

What is the age rating?

WordDuel is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

I found a bug — how do I report it?

Reach us through the contact form. If you include your device model, operating system version, game version and the steps that led to the problem, we can reproduce and fix it far more quickly.

Question not listed here?

You can write to us directly about bug reports, data deletion requests or anything else. If you are reporting a bug, including your device model and operating system version speeds things up considerably.
